GMC reg: 6028163Professor Baker is a Consultant orthopaedic surgeon specialising in primary hip and knee replacement surgery and revision knee replacement surgery. He undertakes total, partial and robotic assisted knee replacement procedures in his NHS practice. He is the revision knee replacement lead for the South of North East revision knee network based at South Tees NHS Trust and he undertakes a high volume of complex revision knee replacement surgery as part of this role. He is a national orthopaedic leader supporting the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE), the Royal College of Surgeons of England (RCS), and the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) in a variety of leadership roles. He is a noted academic and holds multiple NIHR research grants focussing on improving care for patients sundering hip and knee replacement surgery. He has published over 125 peer reviewed papers on a variety of orthopaedic topics.
