GMC reg: 1324761Professor George Hamilton is a Consultant Vascular Surgeon based at the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust, Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children and University College London Medical School. He qualified from Glasgow University, with specialist training at the Royal Free Hospital, and Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard School of Medicine as a Fulbright Scholar. He was appointed to his first Consultant post in 1987. He is Professor of Vascular Surgery at the University College London School of Medicine, and Clinical Director of the Private Patients Service at the Royal Free Hospital. Professor Hamilton holds a specialist interest in renovascular and mesenteric disease, paediatric vascular disease, and vascular malformations in addition to research interests in vascular biomaterials and biology. He was President of the Vascular Society of Great Britain and Ireland in 2007, President of the European Society for Vascular Surgery in 2013 and Serjeant Surgeon until 2016.
