A Clinical Entrepreneur & Innovator, with 33 years' experience in NHS, 25 in Medical Oncology (20 as a consultant) & 9 months as global clinical lead for AstraZeneca, I design and lead innovative changes in treatments and systems, redesigning models of cancer care. An international cross-sector boundary global leader specialising cancer clinical trials, leading to major advances in breast cancer outcomes for patients, I have led commissioning and implementation of many of these into services; notably £9M for Adjuvant Trastuzumab Service and £2M for Bisphosphonates in Manchester as well many NICE approvals. With special attention to health inequalities, my model of care has been incorporated into the European Code of Cancer Practice and services innovations in NHS England. Challenges to advancing within NHS led to the founding of Manchester Breast Centre in 2005 and Outreach Research & Innovation Group in March 2020. I have strong communication, relationship building and political skills and a track record of building partnerships to benefit all the people in healthcare. I led breast cancer research in Manchester for over 20 years and built one of the few comprehensive breast cancer services, inclusive of dedicated secondary breast cancer workstream in UK. I conceived, developed, and led -a fully integrated, holistic breast cancer service aimed at improving patient care and access to new treatments. -an outreach model of care for Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy - agreed commissioning for Acute Oncology across Greater Manchester With > 250 publications (https://orcid.org/0000-0002-9639-0888) in leading journals I have managed and run hospitals and health systems & services linking primary care to tertiary care and prevention through to end of life care, developed electronic medical records & datasets, advised national and been a national and international educator. I connect life-sciences to patients & develop translational medicine teams to accelerate discovery improve outcomes.
