Professor Prof Ciro Rinaldi

Professor Ciro Rinaldi, MD, PhD, FRCPath, is a UK-based Consultant Haematologist and Honorary Professor of Haematology, with international recognition for his clinical, academic and leadership contributions to blood cancer care and healthcare improvement. He trained in medicine and haematology at the University of Federico II in Naples, Italy, holds a PhD in biotechnology, and undertook significant translational research in the United States, including at the University of Illinois at Chicago. His clinical and research interests focus on myeloid malignancies, including myeloproliferative neoplasms, myelodysplastic syndromes and acute myeloid leukaemia, with particular emphasis on molecular pathways, diagnostics and early-phase clinical trials. Professor Rinaldi currently serves as Deputy Chief Medical Officer, alongside senior research and innovation leadership roles within the NHS, and is an Honorary Professor at the University of Lincoln, where he leads research and supervises trainees. He is widely published in peer-reviewed journals and is recognised for integrating high-quality patient care, translational research, medical education and system-level clinical leadership.
