Mr Pranshu Agrawal

I am a Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in the diagnosis and treatment of knee conditions, with a particular clinical interest in knee arthroscopy and minimally invasive surgery. My practice covers all aspects of knee surgery, including sports-related injuries to the ligaments, meniscus and cartilage, knee cap pain and instability, and the management of knee arthritis using partial, patellofemoral and total knee replacements. I frequently treat athletes from a wide range of sports, including football, rugby, cricket and mixed martial arts. Using a modern, patient-specific approach, I focus on clear communication and setting realistic expectations. Working closely with an experienced team of physiotherapists and anaesthetists allows me to support patients through every stage of their treatment and recovery. I am a strong advocate of joint preservation, particularly for patients with early arthritis. Where appropriate, treatment options may include arthroscopic procedures, biologic injections, cartilage regenerative techniques and realignment or osteotomy surgery. For advanced, bone-on-bone arthritis, my philosophy is to replace only the affected area of the knee wherever possible, which is reflected in the large number of partial and patellofemoral knee replacements I perform. I completed my medical degree and orthopaedic training in India before undertaking further specialist training in the UK, including knee surgery fellowships at the internationally renowned Wrightington Hospital. I am currently a consultant at Wirral University Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. Alongside my clinical work, I am actively involved in teaching and research, serve as an Associate Editor for the Journal of Clinical Orthopaedics and Trauma , and regularly present at national and international conferences.
