Paula Sabino graduated from medical school in 1990 at the Nova School of Medicine, Lisbon. She completed her specialty training in General Surgery in 2000 and worked as Consultant General Surgeon at the Caldas da Rainha Hospital in Portugal. She took an active role in launching the surgical day care unit at the Caldas da Rainha Hospital and treated surgical patients through the Portuguese National Health Service. With a personal interest in emergency and trauma care she also developed specialised procedures in emergency surgery. Paula moved to the UK in 2012 where she took a role at the Alexandra Hospital, Redditch before joining the Practice Plus Group team as a Consultant General Surgeon. She has a special interest in laparoscopy and ambulatory / day case surgery.
