Mr Leeder is a senior laparoscopic (key hole) surgeon based in the East Midlands. He has been specialising in General, Upper Gastrointestinal, Cancer, Bariatric and Hernia surgery since qualifying in Medicine from The University of Sheffield in 1989. Mr Leeder’s training has taken him from Nottingham, Leeds, Oxford, including a prestigious laparoscopic surgical fellowship in Adelaide, Australia. He has worked as a consultant general surgeon since 2002 and has developed a specialist practice in the laparoscopic management of hernias, gallstones, obesity and acid reflux. Mr Leeder regularly receives referrals from consultant colleagues for complex hernia repairs, cholecystectomy (gallbladder surgery), treatment of acid reflux and hiatus hernia repair. He also helped set up the first and only weight loss surgery service in the East Midlands, which has become one of the most successful units in the country. Mr Leeder believes that the key to success is working as a team. He has a network of fellow surgeons, nurses, dietitians, physicians and anaesthetists who work together to maintain world class outcomes for his patients.
