Nev is a Consultant in Trauma and Orthopaedic (T&O) surgery working in Reading, UK. His NHS practice is based at The Royal Berkshire Hospital and he has worked there for the last 15 years. He consults privately from Spire Dunedin Hospital and Circle Hospitals. His subspecialty specialist interests are in children‘s orthopaedics and adult knee surgery. His practice manager is Debbie Rollason who has worked closely with Nev for the last 12 years. At the turn of the millennium, after 6 years of study and an intercalated BSc. in Neuroscience, Nev qualified as a Doctor from St Marys Hospital Medical School in London. In 2001 he completed his house jobs at St. Mary’s and Wexham Park Hospital, and then started a 3 year basic surgical rotation in and around London, including T&O jobs at Kingston Hospital and at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital Stanmore. Nev then spent 6 years on the Oxford Specialist Registrar Rotation in T&O incorporating a children’s fellowship at Westmead Kids in Sydney, Australia. He started his consultant post at the Royal Berks in 2010 on his return from Australia .Nev has an interesting dual practice as he treats all musculoskeletal conditions seen in children, as well as adult knee conditions. He is one of only a handful of surgeons in the UK who has expertise in treating knee problems in patients of all ages through from new-borns to elderly patients. He is often referred difficult cases for second opinions from all over the UK. His other particular interest is that of prevention of children’s sports injuries, and is currently leading a task force of UK knee surgeons looking into this important topic. Nev is also a keen educator and has been the Orthopaedic Tutor at the Royal Berkshire Hospital. He is currrently the complaints lead for the department. Nev is invited faculty to teach at several UK courses on Trauma and Orthopaedics, including the AO Paediatric Trauma course and the UK Miller Revision course. He has also been invited as Faculty at the International Children’s Knee Conference in Sheffield and the Warwick Sports Knee Conference to talk on injury prevention. He is Chair of the Injury prevention session at ISAKOS in Munich in June 20925. Out of work, Nev’s life revolves around his sporty young family. Nev has a busy family life with 3 young boys under 15 and a very sporty wife who is an ex-GB triathlete and also a consultant at the Royal Berkshire Hospital. Although his sporting love is rugby and particularly supporting Wales in Cardiff, he gets his competitive buzz from playing golf. He plays competitively off a handicap of 1 and has competed in British Open Qualifying twice, Berkshire Trophy and The Sunningdale Foursomes.

Mr. Nev Davies specialises in both adult knee surgery and paediatric orthopaedics, with a focus on joint preservation, sports injuries, and growth-related conditions. His adult knee practice includes ACL reconstruction (including revision cases), meniscal repair, patellofemoral instability, cartilage injury, and both partial and total knee replacement, including complex primary procedures. He is particularly experienced in treating active patients seeking to return to sport or delay joint replacement through non-operative and surgical strategies. In paediatric orthopaedics, Mr. Davies manages a range of lower limb conditions including patellar instability, osteochondritis dissecans, limb deformity, and Multiple Hereditary Exostoses (MHE). He offers a family-focused approach and works closely with physiotherapists and multidisciplinary teams to ensure the best outcomes for young patients.
