Dr Nagui Gendi

After my General Medical training, I trained at the Royal Free Hospital in London and at the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre in Oxford. In addition to Rheumatology I was accredited in Rehabilitation medicine. I published on clinical aspects of Rheumatic diseases including Mixed Connective Tissue disease, the outcome of elbow surgery in rheumatoid arthritis and parvovirus arthritis. I have been a Consultant Rheumatologist at Basildon & Thurrock University Hospitals NHS Trust since 1995. I have a broad experience in Rheumatic diseases, but have developed a special interest in multisystem Rheumatic disease and muscle disease. I have also developed expertise and have become proficient in musculoskeletal ultrasound. I am also interested in medicolegal aspects of practice including work related disorders. Over the years I have contributed well to the development of the Rheumatology Unit in Basildon and was the Clinical Director for Outpatient specialities for about 10 years.
