Mr Muthu Jeyam

I am a Consultant Shoulder and Upper Limb Surgeon at the Salford Royal University Teaching Hospital.  I was awarded the Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons in 1995.  Following this I did full time research at the University of Manchester and obtained a research degree of M-Phil. I then completed my higher surgical training in Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgery from Manchester, for which I was awarded the Fellowship of The Royal College of Surgeons in Trauma and Orthopaedics in 2004.  I have been a dedicated fellow in learning the art of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery and underwent training from the prestigious Nottingham Shoulder and Elbow Unit.  I further gained valuable experience from a Fellowship at The Harvard Shoulder Service and The Boston Sports Injury Service, Boston, Massachusetts, USA. I was awarded the senior British Shoulder and Elbow Society Fellowship in 2011, as a part of which I had undertaken visitation to eminent surgeons like Dr Burkhart at San Antonio, Texas , USA and Prof P Boileau at Nice, France. I specialises in arthroscopic shoulder and elbow surgery. My practice includes management of patients with upper limb sports injuries. In addition I also perform open surgery including arthroplasty and specialises in complex upper limb trauma and fracture management.  I am a member of the British Shoulder and Elbow Society (BESS) and Indian Orthopaedic Association UK. I am an honorary senior lecturer at Salford University.
