Dr Murugiah Seevaratnam Consultant Physician, General Internal Medicine Offers face-to-face consultations Video and telephone consultations About me Dr Seevaratnam is a Consultant Physician in General Internal Medicine. He qualified in medicine from Sri Lanka’s Colombo University, while playing first-class cricket. Successfully combining first-class cricket, wicketkeeping, and medical training gave him invaluable insight into working under pressure while still motivating and inspiring patients. After training at posts at Norfolk, Enfield, Northampton and Southampton University, he was appointed Consultant Physician at East and North Herts NHS Trust. In 2014, he moved into private practice full-time. He maintains his practice up to date through clinical meetings, teach-ins, conferences and study days. As an Acute Physician taking unselected admissions, he gained broad clinical experience in diagnosing and managing a wide range of medical conditions in adults over 18 years that affect the heart, lungs, digestive system, kidneys, and nervous system and blood. Within the Trust, he has held the role of Clinical Director, Chairman of the Drugs and Therapeutics Committee, and medical lead in ethics committees. He provides general medical cover for post-operative complications in the hospitals where he has practising privileges. Personal profile Seeva is married and has a son. An outstanding wicketkeeper, he played first-class and representative cricket in Sri Lanka. He also played Middlesex County league cricket.
