Mr Muhammad Sohail Butt

MR SOHAIL BUTT, FRCS, CONSULTANT ORTHOPAEDIC SURGEON Sohail is a Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon at Dudley NHS Foundation Trust since 1994. He received his basic surgical training in the South East and West Midlands, UK. He passed his FRCS in 1990 and continued with his Orthopaedic training in the Black Country and at St Mary’s Hospital in London before being appointed as a Consultant in 1994. He has also been Head of service /Clinical lead of Orthopaedic department between May 1999 to December 2001 and then again from August 2002 to 2004.He was Clinical Director of Trauma & Orthopaedics and Specialist surgery (ENT,Maxillo Facial, Plastics, Opthalmology) from 2017-2019. He has visited several UK and International centres and underwent training in arthroscopic surgery of shoulder, elbow and knee including arthroplasty. He has given lectures to General Practitioner colleagues and para-medical staff regarding Upper limb conditions. He is a Senior Clinical Lecturer at University of Birmingham and was Associate Professor (Overseas Faculty) at St George’s Medical School, Grenada. He has been an instructor on Fracture Fixation Courses, Arthroplasty Courses & Minor Surgical skills course for GP’s and surgical trainees. He has also been invited as international faculty to lecture and do training workshops on Upper Limb surgery. He is a Fellow of British Orthopaedic Association,American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, and British Elbow & Shoulder Society and on Advisory committee of the Pakistan Arthroplasty society. He has been involved in mentoring post-graduates in their Masters thesis and research and took part in nationwide research on Rotator cuff repair (UKUFF), Shoulder Arthroscopy (CSAW) and Frozen Shoulder (UkFROST).
