Ms Shadaba Ahmed

I graduated  from Dow Medical College Pakistan and thereafter achieved the DLO, FRCSI, FRCS-ORL /HNS. I am a Member of the Academy of Medical Educators. I completed my PG Cert in Medical Education form Edgehill University  I am current editor of the Morecambe Bay Journal .  I am part of the local negotiating committee of the BMA for my Trust.   I am involved in education, teaching and training, both at Lancaster University and within the Morecambe Bay Trust.   I am currently a full-time consultant in the Trust.  In my training years I rotated through all the major teaching hospitals in North West London.  I have trained in Head and Neck cancer surgery and thereafter in Otology (ear), Voice, Sinus surgery and Salivary gland surgery.   I organised an ENT Study Day for 9 years in the Trust.   I have recently Edited a book " Core Conditions for Medical and Surgical Finals" for  final year medical students and new graduates.   My additional University post is that of Honorary Lecturer in Lancaster and Honorary Teacher at Liverpool University.

My clinical interests apart from routine ENT are: otology ( ear conditions and  surgery),  voice and swallowing problems,  nasal allergies,  salivary gland surgery with special interest in sialendoscopy ( endoscopic procedures),  vocal cord injection as well as thyroplasty implants to improve voice.  Balance problems ; sinus conditions and dewaxing  I have a research interest in voice and medical education. I undertake all the complex Ear surgery, Salivary gland surgery as well as Pharyngeal pouch surgery in the Trust. Certain ear procedures can be performed endoscopically and I am trained and deliver all routine ENT surgery I am Editor of the only NHS Medical Journal. Entitled MBMJ Morecambe Bay Medical Journal I do not perform Septorhinoplasty ( cosmetic procedure on the nose)  My plan is to set up Multidisciplinary Balance and Allergy/Asthma clinics at The Lancaster Hospital
