My private practice includes all aspects of ENT care for children and adults. I have particular expertise in septo/rhinoplasty, facial plastic surgery and the medical and surgical treatment of sinusitis, including minimally invasive balloon sinuplasty. I have extensive experience in the management of all general ENT conditions including throat, swallowing and voice problems, glue ear and salivary gland disorders. Many patients come to me because they need revision surgery and for my particular expertise in managing complex requirements, including collaboration with other specialists. I am also part of a small group of facial surgeons who are able to perform facial gender affirming surgery. After graduating from the University of Aberdeen in 1999 and early surgical posts, I began training in ENT in 2004 and have been a registered Consultant since 2010. My training included two year long research Fellowships in New York, at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Centre and in anterior skull base surgery at Columbia University College of Surgeons and Physicians. This was followed by a Fellowship in Facial Plastic Surgery at St George's Hospital, London. I also gained specialist training in complex children's ENT disorders at Rady Children's Hospital, San Diego, California. As I senior NHS Consultant, I led the ENT department at St George's NHS Trust through the Covid pandemic, subsequently chairing the regional NHS ENT network for South London. I am also an Honorary Senior Lecturer at St George's University of London Medical School. An invited speaker at national and international conferences, I regularly publish in surgical journals on new and novel ENT therapies. I train junior NHS surgeons in complex ENT care, to ensure an exemplary standard for the future. I listen carefully to my patient's concerns and work in partnership with them to plan care centred around their lifestyle and personal or work commitments. If surgery is recommended, most of my patients are able to leave hospital on the same day. I closely monitor my own surgical outcomes and patient care feedback, to ensure continuous learning and improvement.
