Ms Kerstin Oestreich

Kerstin Oestreich trained in Heidelberg/Mannheim in Germany, Dublin and Singapore. She qualified as a specialist General Surgeon in 2000 and as a Plastic Surgeon in one of the biggest plastic surgery units in Europe (Ludwigshafen, Germany) in 2006. She qualified in Hand Surgery in 2008. Kerstin’s UK experience as a Consultant Plastic and Hand Surgeon was in one of the largest Plastic Surgery Departments in the UK in Salisbury, Wiltshire between 2007 to 2014. From 2014 to 2022 she held the position of Consultant Plastic and Hand Surgeon in the prestigious Birmingham Children’s Hospital. She is an honorary Consultant Plastic and Hand Surgeon in the Pulvertaft Hand Centre in Derby and Birmingham Children’s Hospital. In conjunction with her NHS commitment, she has been in private practice since 2008. With an interest in cosmetic surgery, Kerstin’s experience has also involved body shaping (ie liposuction, tummy tuck, lifting procedures), face rejuvenation (Botox® and fillers), pinnaplasty, breast surgery (augmentation, reduction, uplift), cosmetic gynaecology surgery (labiaplasty). Kerstin has extensive experience with treatment of skin lesions, scarring and skin reconstruction. She also holds a master’s degree in healthcare management from the University of Mannheim, Germany and a degree in European Healthcare Leadership at the INSEAD Business School in Fontainebleau, France. She was granted an award for the Leadership Award Scheme by the Health Foundation, London in 2009. Having since taken part in numerous courses and conferences in plastic surgery, hand and wrist surgery, microsurgery and aesthetic surgery throughout training internationally. Kerstin has published over 40 papers of original articles, book chapters and review papers, and she has been invited speaker and faculty member internationally on numerous meetings and courses.
