Ms Ewa Majdak-Paredes

Ewa is a fully accredited, UK-trained and is on GMC specialist register for Plastic Surgery. Her main interests are all aspects of plastic surgery including surgery of the face, breast and body. She has got private practice rights in Spire Murrayfield Hospital, Spire Shawfair Park Hospital, Waterfront Hospital and King's Park Hospital, Stirling. She was appointed as an NHS Consultant in Edinburgh in 2016. She is currently Clinical Director for Plastic, Burns and Hand Surgery in NHS Lothian. ?In her NHS practice she regularly undertakes complex reconstructive surgery of the breast, body and face. She also works closely with the Breast MDT at Edinburgh Breast Unit and the Skin Cancer MDT at St John's Hospital. She has got strong interests in cosmetic surgery. ?After graduating from medical school, Ewa completed 4-year PhD program in human genetics investigating genetic basis of breast cancer syndromes affecting so many women. She was granted Marie Curie PhD Scholarship. She then spent over 10 years in general and plastic surgery training in London, Birmingham, Dundee and Edinburgh. She undertook fellowships in oncoplastic breast reconstruction, advanced microsurgical breast reconstruction and cosmetic surgery in Edinburgh, Chelmsford and Canada. She has published extensively in the field of breast cancer genetics, reconstructive and cosmetic surgery. She regularly speaks at national and international conferences. ?She is a member of BAPRAS, BAAPS and ASAPS. She gets involved with patient community in various ways e.g. speaking at patient events including breast cancer charity, cosmetic surgery events or by responding to queries via realself and own website (https://www.ejmplasticsurgery.co.uk) ?Outside medicine, Ewa has got great passion for art including being an amateur artist and finding the activity therapeutic. She strongly believes in the power of mindfulness and healthy life-style. Like many women, Ewa is also a mother.
