Ms Deepa Bose

Ms. Deepa Bose qualified as a doctor from the University of Calcutta in 1990. She subsequently came to the UK for higher training. In 2009 she was appointed as a consultant to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham, where she currently works. Her practice is exclusively in adults, and includes general trauma, major trauma and post-traumatic limb reconstruction (osteomyelitis, malunion, non-union, limb lengthening & deformity correction). She also has a keen interest in medical education. She completed an MSc in Medical Education from Cardiff University in 2010. She is now Chair of the Specialist Advisory Committee for Trauma & Orthopaedics in the UK. Ms Bose has a desire to promote and encourage teaching in orthopaedics in developing nations, and she gained the Diploma in Medical Care of Catastrophes from the Worshipful Society of Apothecaries in 2011. She is the Past Chairman of World Orthopaedic Concern UK, a specialist society of the British Orthopaedic Association, and a charity which focuses on teaching orthopaedics in low resource countries, since 2009. She has been on the International Emergency Trauma Register of the UK, a first response team for international disaster relief, since 2012. She undertakes regular visits to Guyana, Gaza and Ukraine.
