Bridget Hemmant is a Consultant Ophthalmologist at the James Paget University Hospital. She specialises in small incision cataract surgery, oculoplastic and lacrimal surgery. She offers private eye care at the East Point Consulting Rooms at the James Paget University Hospital, at Spire hospital Norwich, and also at the Global Eye clinic. She also performs fine line and anti-wrinkle treatments. Mrs Bridget Hemmant trained at Sheffield Medical School, and worked for 10 years at Moorfields Eye Hospital where she gained a thorough grounding in ophthalmology and some subspecialty training in oculoplastic and lacrimal surgery. In Perth, Western Australia she gained international subspecialty training in oculoplastic surgery and developed further her skills in reconstructive surgery. Mrs Hemmant's first consultant post was at the Royal Free in London. She was lured to live and work in East Anglia where she has become integrated into Norfolk life having married the son of Norfolk farmer. Her research MD in ocular wound healing was completed at the Institute of Ophthalmology in London whilst working at Moorfields. Mrs Hemmant is an examiner for the University of East Anglia Medical School and also for the Royal College of Ophthalmologists. Mrs Hemmant is an Ophthalmology GP tutor and a medical student adviser, she is an Honorary senior lecturer at the University of East Anglia and she is the lead for the Special senses module (Ophthalmology, ENT and Neurology). Mrs Hemmant is a founder member of the British Oculopastics surgeons society BOPSS. She is also a member of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists.
