I have trained extensively in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in India, and in the United Kingdom. Since May 2001, I have been a Consultant at Royal Free NHS Hospitals Foundation Trust ( Barnet) and been active in all areas of the hospital and Specialist practice. I am actively involved in laparoscopic and hysteroscopic surgery (Keyhole Minimal Access surgery) . I am passionatre about medical education and training and supervising future Obstetricians and Gynaecologists. I was voted by medical students and received the ?Top Teacher Award? for 2009/2010 by University College Medical School, London for my contribution to teaching and medical education. I was Training Programme Director for several years for NTE London Deanery. My initial training as a medical student was in the prestigious medical school, Jipmer, Pondicherry in India. I then did my post graduate studies, with research in fetal medicine in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences between the years 1987 ?1991. I came to the UK for higher training in 1992. My main gynaecological interests are in Minimal Access Surgery (Keyhole Surgery), managing Vulval problems and Cervical Cancer screening. I have been an MRCOG examiner and a RCOG college representative at interviews for consultant appointments, I lecture to General Practitioners (GPs) on a regular basis. I am the founder of women for women?s health (WfWH), an exciting service promoting women?s health through healthy living. I practice using a holistic approach, using surgical techniques only where appropriate. I am passionate about public and medical education.
