I am an experienced ophthalmologist with 24 years of post-training experience in ophthalmology, including 19 years in the UK. I completed my training at University Hospitals Aintree NHS Foundation Trust in Liverpool and Peterborough and Stamford Hospitals NHS Foundation Trusts. I am skilled in complex cataract surgery with several thousand documented and continuously audited cases. My most recent audit of toric intraocular lenses to correct astigmatism were comparable to the results of large eye hospitals in the UK. I have extensive experience in implanting premium and specialist intraocular lenses (IOLs) including toric and multifocal IOLs tailored to my patients’ needs. My results are continuously audited with excellent reproducible results. In my recent appraisal, the audit of intra-vitreal injections and laser procedures, showed that the complication rate was 0%. In addition, I have a wealth of knowledge of medical retina, general ophthalmology and laser procedures. My general ophthalmology experience is vast including acute eye diseases, non-surgical glaucoma and neuro-ophthalmology. I am currently a consultant at Calderdale and Huddersfield Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust where I have worked for ten years. I worked at University Hospitals Aintree NHS Foundation Trust (Liverpool), Peterborough and Stamford Hospitals NHS Foundation Trusts and since September 2013, I have been working at Calderdale and Huddersfield hospitals NHS Foundation Trusts.
