GMC reg: 4049324I practise privately at the Fortius Clinic in London and at the Spire Hospital Leicester. I was appointed as a consultant orthopaedic and trauma surgeon at the University Hospitals of Leicester in 2005, with a particular interest complex knee surgery (re do knee replacements) and primary hip replacement surgery. I undertake all forms of knee replacement surgery from partial knee replacement, through to complex revision knee surgery. A large part of my trauma practice is based on acute knee injuries and their subsequent management, including ligament reconstruction and meniscal repair where required. I am actively involved in research and lecture on revision (redo) knee replacement courses, which are attended by international delegates. I have published papers on hip and knee replacement and on returning to sport and activity following hip and knee replacement. I am regularly required to give opinions and treat patients from other orthopaedic consultants from hospitals outside of the local region. I am involved in the training of the next generation of surgeons and have held a senior management position in the orthopaedic department of one of the largest teaching hospitals in the country. I studied medicine at the Charing Cross and Westminster Medical School (Imperial College) which is a part of the University of London. I was granted a prestigious medical research council award and graduated in physiology in 1990. I obtained my MBBS with distinction in surgery in 1993. I became a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 1997 and obtained my intercollegiate speciality orthopaedic fellowship FRCS (Trauma and Orth) in 2002. After gaining experience in orthopaedic surgery at Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge, I undertook my higher surgical training through the University College Hospital Training Programme in London. I also underwent further subspecialty training as a Senior Fellow in Adelaide, Australia.
