Mr Tosan Okoro

Mr Tosan Okoro was appointed as a consultant in hip and knee arthroplasty at the Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Foundation Trust in December 2019. After medical school at the University of Warwick, core surgical training was undertaken in the West Midlands Deanery. As a Clinical Academic Trainee, his PhD at Bangor University focused on exercise rehabilitation following total hip arthroplasty, with further higher surgical training across south Wales. Mr. Okoro is a graduate of the British Orthopaedic Association (BOA) National Future Leaders Programme (2018). Mr. Okoro completed a lower limb reconstruction fellowship at the Sunnybrook Holland Orthopaedic and Arthritic centre in Toronto, Canada (August 2018-19). He also undertook an AOTrauma Fellowship (FMRP, University of Sao Paolo, Brazil, May 2017); as well as the prestigious Stephan Perren AOTrauma Research Fellowship (Charite Hospital, Berlin (September 2019); and AO Institute in Davos (September 2021)).Mr. Okoro has multiple publications in peer-reviewed journals, with research prizes won including Best Poster at the British Orthopaedic Research Society (2012), and Best Research Project at the European Foot and Ankle Society (2021).Mr Okoro is supervisor to Registrars on the Oswestry / Stoke orthopaedic rotation, and teaches on a number of educational courses.
