GMC reg: 2629890Mr Davis was appointed as a Consultant Hand Surgeon at Nottingham University Hospitals in 1995 and continues to work there (on a part-time basis since 2020). He trained in the Northern Region (based in Newcastle), the Derby Hand Unit and the Mayo Clinic in the USA. Since 1999 he has been an Honorary Professor at the University of Nottingham. Mr Davis was the President of the British Society for Surgery of the Hand in 2009, and Editor of the Journal of Hand Surgery (European Volume) in 2000-2005 and 2008. He has given invited lectures on Hand Surgery to the Federation of European Societies for Surgery of the Hand, the Belgium, Dutch, French, Scandinavian, South African and Swedish Hand Societies and, most recently, the International Society for Surgery of the Hand (2022). Mr Davis has performed extensive research into Hand Surgery conditions, particularly thumb osteoarthritis, Dupuytren's contracture and scaphoid and hand fractures. He is presently the Chief Investigator of a National Institute for Health and Care Research funded research study on the treatment of Dupuytren's contractures involving over 20 UK hand centres (https://www.fundingawards.nihr.ac.uk/award/NIHR127393).
