Mr Simon Sturdee

Simon Sturdee is a Consultant in Trauma and Orthopaedic surgery working in Halifax and Huddersfield in West Yorkshire. He graduated from Leeds University Medical School in 1996. His basic surgical training was undertaken in Leeds, Harrogate and Bradford working in the specialties of General medicine, Accident and Emergency medicine, General Surgery, Neurosurgery, Cardiothoracic surgery and Trauma and orthopaedic Surgery. He has been a Consultant since April 2008. His NHS practice is based at Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Trust working at Huddersfield Royal Infirmary and Calderdale Royal Hospital. He has a monthly NHS clinic at Todmorden Health Centre. His private practice is based at Elland Hospital, Elland, Spire Holmfirth Clinic and Huddersfield BMI Hospital. His elective interests are lower limb surgery, mainly foot and ankle (Below the knee). He is a member of the British Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society (BOFAS), The European Foot and Ankle Society (EFAS), An International member of the American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society (AOFAS), and The British Orthopaedic Association (BOA). He is a Fellow of The Royal College of Surgeons of England. Mr Sturdee offers a comprehensive foot and ankle service offering surgical and non-surgical treatments. He has a particular interest in ankle arthroscopy and sports injuries (Has treated professional rugby league players from Huddersfield Giants, Castleford Tigers, Halifax and Featherstone) He has an interest in and performs total ankle replacements. He also does minimally invasive foot surgery where appropriate (MIS Surgery). He works closely with physiotherapists, orthotists, podiatrists, anaesthetists, pain specialists, radiologists and nurses to provide a team approach to the patients problem.
