Mr Simon Clarke

I trained in London at Great Ormond street Hospital and Chelsea & Westminster. I was Associate Professor in the academic unit in Hong Kong and was Clinical Lead for Paediatric surgical services at The Chelsea Children’s hospital and the Royal Brompton Hospital for 7 years. I was recently appointed by NHS England as co clinical lead for surgery for the North London operational delivery network . My areas of interest include both Laparoscopic (keyhole) and open surgical procedures for neonates and children as well simple day case surgery and more complex procedures for gastro-oesophageal reflux. I have always had interest in training paediatric surgeons and have developed and run courses both in the simulation of operations as well as minimal access surgical techniques. I have previously been a board member on the national training committee for the UK and Ireland. I have been awarded 9 clinical Excellence awards during my 16 years as consultant and is currently Past president of the British Association of Paediatric Endoscopic Surgeons (B.A.P.E.S.)
