GMC reg: 6156828Mr Malik graduated in Medicine from Cardiff University in 2007 after completing a BSc (Hons) at St George’s, University of London. He completed his initial training in London at North Thames Foundation School and then moved to Birmingham for Higher Specialist Training, on the run-through training programme at the prestigious Birmingham Orthopaedic Training Programme (BOTP). Mr Malik first completed a Fellowship in the Arthroscopy unit at The Royal Orthopaedic Hospital, Birmingham with Mr Samir Massoud & Mr Marcus Green. He then went to the Pan Am clinic in Winnipeg, Canada where he spent a year with Prof. Peter MacDonald and Dr Jamie Dubberley doing Sports Surgery (Shoulders & Knee) and Upper Limb reconstruction as well as soft tissue knee reconstruction. Mr Malik then spent time in Australia where h?e consolidated his knowledge at the Perth Sports Surgery Fellowship (PSSF) in with Mr Peter D’Alessandro and colleagues. There he? focussed on all aspects of Shoulder and Upper limb surgery as well as Soft Tissue knee reconstruction. In order to enhance my trauma experience, Mr Malik also undertook a Trauma Fellowship at the Fiona Stanley Hospital in Perth before returning back to the UK and taking up Consultant position at Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust. Mr Malik has also completed a visiting Fellowships at the Centre Orthopédique Santy – Lyon, where he spent time with Dr Neyton and Dr Bertrand Sonnery-Cottet at FIFA centre of excellence. Mr Malik's area of interests are all aspects of Shoulder, Elbow & Knee Sports Surgery which involves arthroscopy (keyhole) surgery and joint replacement. His other interest includes trauma with a focus on Upper Limb trauma. Mr Malik is involved in teaching and education and is a recognised Trainer. Mr Malik is currently a Trauma & Orthopaedics Training Programme Director for Education at Health Education West Midlands. Mr Malik is active in undertaking research and has written several book chapters with international authors as well as published over 50 papers in peer reviewed journals. He has presented several national and international presentations and has won Prizes. Outside medicine, Mr Malik is a keen runner. He has run several half marathons and has completed a Marathon. He has trekked Mount Kilimanjaro peak and Everest Base Camp and cycled around the UK & Europe.
