Mr Robert Calvert

Mr Calvert went to Medical School at Pembroke College, Cambridge and Addenbrooke's Hospital, Cambridge. He specialised in Urology in 1999 and completed a post-graduate doctorate at University College London. He completed his Higher Surgical Training in the Eastern Region before moving to the Royal Liverpool University Hospital to take up his post as Consultant Urological Surgeon in 2008. He has a specialist interest in kidney stone surgery and led the kidney stone service at the Royal Liverpool University until becoming the Clinical Lead to Urology in 2019 and then the Clinical Director across the newly merger Urology service across the Royal Liverpool, Broadgreen and Aintree Hospitals. Mr Calvert was the Urology Lead for  the elective care programme of the Cheshire and Merseyside Health and Care Partnership in 2020 and then the Urology Lead of the Regional Transformation and Recovery Programme in 2021. Mr Calvert was one of 4  Urologist member of the NICE Guidelines panel for Kidney and Ureteric Stones which produced the first national guidelines in this field in 2019. Mr Calvert is the Secretary of the Endourology Section of the British Association of Urological Surgeons.

Mr Calvert treats patients with a range of core urological problems at Spire Hospital including urinary tract infections, tight foreskins, scrotal lumps and urinary problems. He has a specialist interest in kidney stone disease and provides a range of diagnostic services, prevention advice and treatments for patients with stones in the kidney or ureter.
