Mr Reza Mirnezami

Mr Mirnezami is a Consultant Colorectal and Neuroendocrine Tumour surgeon at the Royal Free Hospital, London. He is the Clinical Director for Colorectal Surgery across four clinical hospital sites that comprise the Royal Free London Group. He offers treatment for all benign and malignant conditions of the small intestine, colon, rectum and anus, as well as general surgery conditions such as complex abdominal wall herniation. Mr Mirnezami leads the complex colorectal cancer MDT at the Royal Free Hospital and his practice is primarily focused on open, laparoscopic and robotic surgery for primary and recurrent colorectal cancers and neuroendocrine tumours. He is a tertiary referral specialist and key opinion leader in the field of neuroendocrine tumour surgical oncology and receives referrals from all over the United Kingdom. Mr Mirnezami is on the advisory panel for the UK and Ireland Neuroendocrine Tumour Society and has a number of active programs of research in this field.  Mr Mirnezami is passionate about evidence based practice, high quality research and leadership in surgery. He has co-authored over 80 publications in scientific journals including The Lancet, The New England Journal of Medicine, Nature and Annals of Surgery. He has authored 7 book chapters on wide ranging topics and has been involved in global personalised medicine initiatives with the World Economic Forum, with his former PhD supervisor Lord Ara Darzi. He is currently on the Editorial board of Current Oncology, Artificial Intelligence in Healthcare and the World Journal of Surgical Oncology.
