Mr Rajiv Sanger

I Qualified as an Orthopaedic Surgeon after post graduate training in India from University of Delhi and arrived in UK in 1988. I underwent further post graduate training in General Surgery as well Orthopaedic Surgery in UK obtaining Post graduate diplomas From Royal college of Surgeons of Edinburgh ( FRCS Ed and FRCS Orth Ed) as well as MCh.Orth from university of Liverpool.  I undertook specialist training in Lower Limb Arthroplasty Surgery with specialist fellowships from  New Zealand, University of Toronto, Canada and Wrightington Hospital UK.  I have been a substantive Orthopaedic Consultant now in UK since 2001.  I am very interested in undergraduate and post graduate education of medical graduates and have been a honorary Senior Lecture with University of Liverpool since 2019. I am examiner for FRCS Orth since 2016.  My Research interests are in Outcomes Research.  My Clinical specialism is  now in all types of Lower limb arthroplasty surgery ( Primary and Revision joint replacements of Hip and Knee) including unicompartmental knee replacements for management of osteoarthritis.  My Leisure interests include Photography, Gardening, Hiking and Racquet sports.  I am married with two grown up children who are settled and my wife who is a General Practitioner. 

I am Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon with Special interest in Lower limb Primary and Revision  Arthroplasty Surgery of Hip and Knee joints. I undertake conventional Primary Total Hip and Knee replacements including unicompartmental knee replacements as well Robotic assisted Knee replacements. I also undertake arthroscopic Surgery of Knee as well tibial and femoral osteotomies for management of osteoarthritis in younger patients. In addition I provide full compliment of conservative methods of treatment of osteoarthritis.
