Mr Per Hall

Trained at University College London and the Medical School in Cambridge.  After graduation specialised in general surgery to obtained the Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS) before embarking upon training in the subdiscipline of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery initially at East Grinstead but also in Wexham Park Hospital before getting onto the West Midlands training scheme for Plastic Surgery which rotated around the Central Birmingham units and the then Regional centre at Wordsley Hospital.  Finally completed training in Norwich and gained the specialist exam in Plastic Surgery which includes being examined in Aesthetic Surgery (FRCS(Plast)). Research interest in Early detection of Melanoma using computer imaging.  Helped develop and evaluate the SIAscope for analysing moles looking for features to help spot melanoma early.   Appointed a Consultant Plastic Surgeon at Addenbrookes Hospital in 1996 and became the Clinical Lead for the Cleft Lip and Palate service for East Anglia in 2002.  This post now handed over as I spend 2-4 weeks per year working in Ethiopia with the charity Operation Smile to help establish a sustainable Cleft, Burns and reconstructive surgery service for this rural part of Ethiopia where 15 million people don't currently have access to reconstructive surgery.  I am the Clinical Advisor to Check4Cancer for skin cancer detection.

 I have a special interest in COngenital deformity having been the Clibnical Lead for Cleft Lip and Palate derformity for Addenbrookes Hospital. I have a research interest in early detection of skin Cancers with computer imaging and telemedicine.
