Mr Paul Williams

Mr Paul Williams qualified from the University of Wales College of Medicine in 1990. Following an extensive basic surgical training, he became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in 1995. His higher surgical training in Trauma and Orthopaedics was on the all Wales rotation, with further time spent at the Robert Jones & Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital; Fellowship training in Sydney, Australia; and additional specialist Foot and Ankle training in Bristol, France, Holland, and Switzerland. He obtained the Intercollegiate examination in 1999 and became a substantive full-time consultant in March 2002. He was the Clinical Director for Trauma, Orthopaedic & Spinal surgery at the Swansea Bay University Health Board for 4 years until August 2022 and is currently an Assistant Medical Director within SBUHB. Mr Williams is a member of the British Orthopaedic Association; the British Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society (BOFAS); and the British Society for Children’s Orthopaedic surgery (BSCOS). He is the Honorary Orthopaedic Surgeon to Swansea City AFC, and at times to the Wales FA. He is a Swansea Medical School Clinical Tutor and Examiner, as well as a Clinical Supervisor and Assigned Educational Trainer for Core and Higher surgical trainees.
