Mr Paul Modi

Mr Modi is one of only a handful of surgeons in the UK who regularly performs minimally invasive mitral valve surgery. He is the only surgeon performing Da Vinci robotic mitral valve surgery. He was trained in Cardiothoracic Surgery in the UK, US, Germany, Belgium and The Netherlands, and is on the Specialist Register of the General Medical Council (GMC no 4125879). Mr Modi performs over 120 mitral valve operations per year, possibly the largest practice of minimally invasive and conventional mitral valve repair / replacement in the UK, and is one of a couple of British heart surgeons formally trained in the US in robotic mitral valve repair and robotic coronary artery bypass graft surgery. He is a national and international trainer (proctor) in many of these techniques.
