Mr Nicholas Boyle

Nick qualified from Southampton University and undertook his post-graduate surgical training at Guys and St Thomas’ hospitals. He was awarded a Master of Surgery degree by London University for research into blood flow in the stomach and gastro-intestinal tract and published numerous scientific papers based upon this work. He undertook advanced laparoscopic training at the Minimal Access Training Unit in Guildford. He was appointed consultant surgeon to Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust in 2000 where he led the centralisation of gastro-oesophageal cancer surgery in Kent for several years. Over the last decade he has developed his interest in the treatment of gastro-oesophageal reflux disease. He established the first multi-disciplinary team dedicated to the diagnosis and treatment of patients with reflux in the UK. He was one of the first surgeons in the country to implant the LINX sphincter augmentation device and has one of the largest series in Europe. He is now a regular speaker on the management of GORD at both national and international scientific meetings. Nick is married to Gabrielle and they have four children. When not working he enjoys cooking, wine, travel and riding horses, competing at a very amateur level as a one day event rider.
