Mr Mr Robin Banerjee

I graduated from Liverpool University Medical School in 1998. After my House Job in The Royal Liverpool University Hospital I continued my Basic Surgical training in Merseyside encompassing all facets of surgery including plastics and neurosurgery. I undertook Specialist Orthopaedic training in the West Midlands based at the Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital in Oswestry. After this I trained for a year with Ian Stockley in Sheffield as the 10th Cavendish Hip Fellow gaining expertise in complex revision hip and knee surgery. I commenced my Consultant post at the Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital in September 2009. I have a hip and knee replacement practice performing 200 primary hips and 100 primary knee surgeries per year. I perform 40-50 revision cases per year of both hip and knee. I also perform arthroscopic knee surgery. I am also the Clinical Tutor for our Trust for the Royal College of Surgeons.

Primary and revision hip and knee replacement including complex hip reconstruction for hip dysplasia, other childhood hip problems in young adults and previous trauma. I perform all of my surgeries at RJAH as it is one of the 5 specialist Orthopaedic units in England allowing me to deal with some of the more complex cases including the use of bone graft, trabecular titanium implants and augments and hinged knee replacements for revision surgeries.
