Mr Mostafa Elgohary

I am a consultant ophthalmologist subspecialised in retinal disorders and complex cataract surgery. I graduated from Tanta Faculty of Medicine, Egypt, and studied and obtained an MD degree from University College London (UCL) and trained as a specialist registrar in Ophthalmology on the North Thames rotation of the London Deanery. I then trained as a fellow in Vitreoretinal surgery at Moorfields Eye Hospital, London. I also trained in Paediatric Ophthalmology at the Hospital for Sick Children, Toronto, Canada. My research interest is in the outcome of retinal detachment and macular hole repair surgery. I have given several presentations at international meetings and have several peer-reviewed publications on outcome of cataract surgery and retinal detachment procedures and its outcome. I have interest in education and have given several lectures to under- and post-graduate students at UCL and the Institute of Ophthalmology. I am a senior instructor on several courses at international Ophthalmology meetings, including the European Society of Retina Specialists, European Vitreoretinal Society and European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons.  Professional memberships British & Eire Vitreoretinal Society (BEAVRS) European Society of Retinal Specialists (Euretina) European Vitreoretinal Society (EVRS) American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO)
