GMC reg: 4093749I graduated from the University of Sheffield Medical School in 1994 before training in Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgery in Yorkshire. During my training, I undertook three Hand Surgery Fellowships, two in the UK and one at Boston's Massachusetts General Hospital. This prepared me for a career as a specialist Hand and Wrist surgeon. I was appointed by Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust as a Consultant Orthopaedic Hand and Wrist Surgeon in 2006. I am a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, a member of the British Orthopaedic Association, British Society for Surgery of the Hand and North West Hand Society. I am Chair of the Cumbria and Lancashire Association for Surgery of the Hand. In addition to my clinical responsibilities, I hold a number of external roles, emphasising my passion and enthusiasm for clinical teaching and education. I am the North West of England Regional Surgical Adviser for the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. I am a member of the British Society for Surgery of the Hand Education and Training Committee and a member of the Health Education England North West Trauma and Orthopaedic Specialist Training Committee, holding the role of Trainee Rotation Master. I am a Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh MRCS examiner and British Society for Surgery of the Hand, Hand Diploma examiner. In my spare time, I am an active ECB qualified cricket coach and have recently started to learn to play the guitar.
