Michael Sharp qualified in 1991. His surgical training was in Oxford. Prior to taking up his substantive consultant post at the Aberdeen Royal Infirmary he undertook an endovascular fellowship at Guys and St Thomas' Hospital London. He has a comprehensive vascular surgical practice and is the lead for Renal Access at the Aberdeen Royal Infirmary. At the BMI Albyn he devotes his time mainly to varicose veins. He has expertise in duplex scanning allowing full assessment at the initial consultation. He uses traditional surgery and contemporary endovascular techniques such as VNUS to treat patients according to their needs.
