Mr Jonathan Quayle

Jonathan is a consultant orthopaedic surgeon whose special interests include hip and knee surgery and lower limb trauma. His focus is on getting the best outcomes for each patient and therefore uses a patient-centred and evidence-based approach that tailors any treatment to that individual. He treats hip and knee conditions from simple sports injuries to complex revision joint replacement surgery. This includes joint preservation surgery, patella stabilisation, partial knee replacements, hip replacements, knee replacements, revision hip replacements and revision knee replacements. His interests include day case joint replacements, minimally invasive surgery, patient specific alignment of implants. Jonathan studied Medicine at Cambridge and Oxford Universities prior to serving with the Royal Army Medical Corps. After completing his orthopaedic training, he specialised in Hip and Knee Surgery on fellowships at North Shore Hospital, Auckland and the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, Stanmore. Jonathan has a keen interest in research and teaching. He has published widely in a number of peer-reviewed orthopaedic journals on hip, knee and trauma surgery including key papers on preventing infection in joint replacement surgery. Jonathan has presented his work nationally and internationally. He continues to enjoy teaching the next generation of orthopaedic surgeons and runs a course on peri-prosthetic fracture management.
