I completed my undergraduate and postgraduate training at the University of Bristol Medical School, graduating in 1997. Since then, I have continuously worked in hospitals in the South West and beyond, specialising in knee and hip surgery. In 2008, I undertook a fellowship in lower limb arthroplasty in Wellington, New Zealand, where I visited leading surgeons and learned a number of new techniques and strategies. Since 2009, I have been a consultant trauma and orthopaedic surgeon at Cheltenham General Hospital, specialising in knee and hip conditions. I have been the Training Programme Director for Core Surgical Trainees in the Severn Deanery, sit on the Implant Scrutiny Committee for the National Joint Registry and have an active role teaching locally, regionally and nationally. Having completed 4 years as Clinical Director I helped lea dates department through COVID and the post COVID recovery programme. I am currently the Integrated Care System MSK lead for Gloucestershire and the Regional Specialty Professional Affairs lead for Orthopaedics in the South West, appointed by the Royal College of Surgeons.
