GMC reg: 6160641Mr John Blythe FRCS is a consultant Oral and Cranio-Maxillofacial surgeon in a relatively unique position to sub-specialise in facial aesthetic surgery, facial aesthetics, complex facial trauma, facial deformity and skin cancer management. He is a consultant in The Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust but has spent the majority of his consultant career as a consultant at Barts Health NHS Trust, the largest Trust in the UK and worked alongside a highly prestigious team of surgeons at the Royal London Hospital focusing on chronic facial deformity following major trauma and facial cancer surgery. He also manages patients who have experienced childhood development facial conditions who have progressed into adult life with ongoing aesthetic concerns. He uses innovative facial aesthetic surgery and reconstructive techniques to bring positive major life changes to people often told in other centres that little or nothing more can be achieved. As a result he has patients attending his London clinics from across the UK. After achieving the University of London Gold Medal for Dentistry and completing his Medicine degree with double distinction, Mr John Blythe pursued his career aspiration to become an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon with sub-specialist interests in facial aesthetics, facial aesthetic surgery, facial deformity following trauma, malignancy and developmental conditions. skin malignancy and facial aesthetics. His early surgical training was undertaken in London and Oxford before specialist training on the UK’s south coast. In 2015, John undertook a one-year European Association of Cranio-Maxillo-Facial Surgeons (EACMFS) Facial Cosmetic Fellowship at the European Face Centre, Belgium. This required him to learn Flemish in a relatively short period of time. This was the year his passion for aesthetics and non-surgical aesthetics began. During his time as a consultant in the governmental hospital (NHS), John has developed a novel and innovative approach and management to patients with chronic facial deformity after life changing trauma, a concept he refers to as “post-traumatic facial rejuvenation”, combining minimally invasive surgery and non-surgical aesthetics to optimise patient outcomes. Alongside his hospital role, he has joined Independent clinics and hospitals, and partners with senior consultant colleagues in oral and maxillofacial surgery and plastic surgery to provide a collaborative approach to facial aesthetic surgery, orthognathic surgery and facial feminisation surgery. Furthermore He offers aesthetic patients a holistic approach with surgical facial aesthetics, injectable-based aesthetics together with his skills in cosmetic dentistry.
