Mr Ivor Vanhegan

Thank you for your interest in my orthopaedic services. I have a broad practice which encompasses joint replacement ('arthroplasty'), Young Adult Hip problems and Medicolegal services (Expert Witness). I am dedicated to improving outcomes and experience for all my patients and take a good deal of pride in the quality of my work. Having completed higher surgical training in London I was awarded the prestigious British Hip Society Fellowship and travelled to Chicago and Vancouver to learn more about complex joint replacement and day-case surgery. Back in the UK, I became triple fellowship trained spending time in Oxford (Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre), Stanmore (Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital), and Reading (Royal Berkshire Hospital). I am presently a full-time Trauma & Orthopaedic Consultant at Salisbury Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust where I have used these skills to perform the first day-case hip replacement in the region (https://www.salisburyjournal.co.uk/news/20127723.salisbury-hospital-completes-hip-replacement-one-day/). My practice focuses on hip & knee joint replacement and hip arthroscopy & osteotomy for hip preservation. Outside of work my passion has always been in sports and I have competed internationally in Rowing and Road Cycling. I enjoy a busy family-life spending time with my three young children and travelling whenever I get the opportunity.
