Mr Hitesh Patel

Mr Hitesh Patel is a renowned Consultant General and Colorectal Surgeon with expertise in General and Lower Gastrointestinal (GI) Tract Surgery. He received his Bachelor's Degree in Medicine and Surgery (MB ChB) from the University of Liverpool in 1994, followed by a Master's Degree in Surgery from the University of London. After completing the London North East Thames Higher Surgical Rotation, Mr Patel gained experience at various specialised tertiary colorectal centers such as St. Mark's Hospital and the esteemed Mount Sinai Hospital in Toronto, Canada. He is also a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England. Currently, Mr Patel serves as a Consultant General and Colorectal Surgeon at Barts Health NHS Trust and Clinical Lead for Surgery at Newham University Hospital, where he handles all aspects of general and colorectal surgery. He performs laparoscopic (key-hole) surgery regularly for gallstones, hernias, and colorectal cancer. In addition to his work with the NHS, Mr Patel practices privately at the London Independent Hospital, Spire London East Hospital, and The Holly Private Hospital, providing first class care at a time that is convenient for his patients. Over the course of his career, Mr Patel has authored numerous articles in peer-reviewed scientific journals and contributed to research on the significance of circulating tumour cells in colorectal cancer.
