I am a Fellowship trained spinal surgeon and started my surgical career in India with a postgraduate degree in Orthopaedic Surgery (1994). After that I trained in the UK and worked in well renowned centres including Norwich, Cardiff, Oswestry and Nottingham. I trained in Spinal Surgery in Mumbai (India), Cardiff, Oswestry and completed a dedicated one year Fellowship in the world renowned Centre for Spinal Studies and Surgery, Nottingham. I also undertook a Visiting Spinal Fellowship in Switzerland with Prof Paul Heini, who is well recognised globally for his pioneering work in cement augmentation for vertebral fractures. Since 2008, I have been working as a Consultant Orthopaedic and Spinal Surgeon in Salisbury District Hospital, New Hall Hospital and Duke of Cornwall Spinal Treatment Centre.
I have also held a number of management roles including-
· Lead Clinician, Department of Orthopaedics in Salisbury District Hospital (2013-16)
· Executive Member of British Association of Spine Surgeons- BASS (2013-18)
· Chair of Professional Practice Committee of the UK Spine Societies Board-UKSSB (2013-16)
· Treasurer, British Association of Spine Surgeons (2016-18)
· Member, Consent Group of British Association of Spine Surgeons (2015- to date)
· Member, Wrong Level Surgery Group of British Association of Spine Surgeons (2017-to date)
Awards:
·John W. Fielding “Young Researcher Award”, by the Cervical Spine Research Society in 2013.
·Clinical Excellence Awards (2013 and 2015) given by the Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust in recognition of “high quality of work, improvements to service provision and research”.

I am a member of the following professional organisations-British Orthopaedic Association, British Association of Spine Surgeons, North American Spine Society, British Medical Association and AO Spine.

Research:
Despite a busy clinical schedule, I have maintained my interest in research and have presented and published in several National and International Conferences and Journals.
Charity work:
I support a number of charities including Stars Appeal, Horatio’s Gardens, Barnado’s, Age UK, Hemalkasa Health Foundation and World Wildlife Fund. In 2009, I trekked in the Sahara Desert for 10 days and raised £2,500 for “Stars Appeal”- the local hospital charity. In September 2018, I climbed Mt Kilimanjaro- the world’s highest free- standing mountain (5895 metres above sea level) in order to raise funds for the Stars Appeal MRI Scan Campaign.
Personal Life: I live with my family near Salisbury and spend my leisure time in trekking, cycling, swimming, badminton, travelling and reading.
I regularly undertake spinal injections and surgeries including disc surgery, decompression, fusion, disc replacement in cervical spine (neck), neck fusion, decompression of spinal cord and fusion, laminaplasty, cement augmentation for vertebral fractures, fixation of spinal fractures etc.
