Mr Haritharan Nageswaran

I am a specialised surgeon in weight loss operations, laparoscopic (keyhole) gallbladder removal and laparoscopic hernia repairs. The weight loss operations I carry out are sleeve gastrectomy, gastric bypass and gastric band insertion (all carried out laparoscopically). I perform these operations in St Joseph’s Hospital (Newport) and Nuffield Chesterfield (Bristol). In the NHS, I am an upper-gastrointestinal surgery consultant at Aneurin Bevan University Health Board where I am involved in service development, research and medical education. I completed medical training at University College London, hold a research degree from University of Surrey, a medical education degree from University of Bristol and a BSc Psychology from University College London. After completing senior surgical training in Wales, I completed the Royal College of Surgeons approved Bariatric surgery fellowship at North Bristol NHS Trust.
