GMC reg: 3322943I am a Consultant plastic surgeon and hand surgeon. I qualified as a doctor from Barts, London, in 1989. In 1993 I became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England, and passed the specialist examination in plastic surgery, FRCS (Plast), in 2000. My plastic surgery training was in the UK and in Sydney, Australia. I was awarded a Fulbright Scholarship to undertake research into aspects of wound healing at Harvard Medical School / Massachussetts General Hospital, Boston, USA (1994-5). I have completed a fellowship (advanced training) in hand surgery at Royal North Shore Hospital, Sydney, one of the world's best hand surgery units. I was first appointed as a Consultant Plastic Surgeon (locum) in Bristol in 2002, and in 2003 joined the surgical team as Consultant Plastic Surgeon and Hand Surgeon at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, London. I was Lead Consultant for Plastic Surgery at Chelsea & Westminster Hospital from 2007- 2012. I am the visiting Consultant Plastic Surgeon at West Middlesex University Hospital, Isleworth. My private practice is based at the London Hand and Wrist Unit at the Wellington Hospital (St Johns Wood), Chelsea Outpatient Centre (Chelsea) and BMI Syon Clinic, Brentford. Hand Surgery I specialise in the treatment of the whole spectrum of hand problems, particularly carpal tunnel syndrome, Dupuytren's disease (finger contractures), trigger finger, ganglions and arthritis / pain in the small joints of the hand. In the clinic many hand surgery problems may be managed without surgery, for example needle fasciotomy for Dupuytren's disease and steroid injections for tendon (eg trigger finger) and joint problems. I also treat many patients with hand injuries such as fractures, joint injuries, tendon injuries, nerve injuries and lacerations / wounds. I have a particular interest in sports injuries of the hand and treat a variety of elite sportsmen. I am fortunate to work with an excellent hand therapy team as part of my hand surgery practice at the Wellington Hospital (St Johns Wood) and Chelsea Outpatient Centre. Plastic Surgery and Cosmetic Surgery As an experienced reconstructive surgeon, I treat many patients with skin cancers such as rodent ulcers (BCCs) and melanoma, particularly lesions on the face where the cosmetic result is so important. I also have extensive experience in the treatment of scars and removal of benign skin lesions for cosmetic reasons. I have a lot of experience with minimally invasive cosmetic treatments such as botulinum toxin (Botox and Dysport), fillers (Restylane etc) and local anaesthetic smaller surgical procedures.
