Mr G. Alexander Augustithis

Mr. Augustithis undertook the generality of his Trauma & Orthopaedic training in the West of Scotland. Upon completion of his training in Trauma & Orthopaedic Surgery in 2015 he embarked on 2 years of Fellowship training in Spinal Surgery. He worked in both the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle and the Scottish National Spinal Deformity Centre in Edinburgh. In both units he trained under nationally and internationally renown surgeons gaining broad experience in spinal surgery with a special emphasis on Children's and Adult Spinal Deformity Surgery. Mr. Augustithis commenced his first NHS consultant post in July 2017. He continues in that role as a Consultant Orthopaedic & Spinal Surgeon in Scotland's largest Trauma Centre. Here he dedicates himself to the management of a broad range of spinal conditions including degenerative spinal disease, spinal deformity and spinal trauma. Mr. Augustithis practices a patient centered and evidence based approach to spinal surgery and believes good communication and empathy lie at the heart of every clinical interaction.
