Mr Fahad Attar

Fahad is a consultant in Trauma & Orthopaedics, specialising in lower limb arthroplasty, knee reconstruction surgery and sports medicine. Fahad achieved his Bachelor of Medicine & Bachelor of Surgery degree (MBChB) from the University of Liverpool in 1999. He successfully completed his Trauma and Orthopaedic training in 2011 and gained his FRCS (Tr & Orth) intercollegiate specialist fellowship exam in 2009.Fahad completed his fellowship training and gained experience in lower limb arthroplasty, knee reconstruction surgery and sports medicine from world renowned centres; the Nuffield Orthopaedic centre in Oxford, the Holland Orthopaedic centre, Sunnybrook hospital in Toronto, Canada and at Wrightington hospital. He has gained vast experience in lower limb arthroplasty and knee reconstruction procedures and his area of expertise is in sports related knee injuries, anterior knee pain and managing young adult knee arthritis. His surgical procedure portfolio includes Primary and revision knee replacements, patient specific knee replacements, knee resurfacing procedures, primary hip replacements, partial knee replacements, osteotomies around the knee, primary and revision ACL and other knee ligament reconstruction procedures, knee arthroscopic procedures and cartilage operations. He also has an interest in the innovative patient specific knee replacements and in joint preservation surgery including meniscal transplant surgery. Fahad is well published and has been involved in on-going clinical and lab based research right through his training and fellowship years and this has culminated in numerous peer reviewed publications and his current research is based on outcomes following knee replacement surgery and patient specific knee replacements. He has been invited as an international speaker in numerous orthopaedic meetings worldwide.
