Mr David Neilly is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon working in Aberdeen with his NHS elective practice based at Woodend Hospital. He graduated in Medicine from the University of Aberdeen in 2010 having also completed a BSc (Hons) degree in Biomedical Sciences with Physiology. Mr Neilly completed his specialist Orthopaedic training in the North of Scotland program, obtaining Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh FRCS (Tr & Orth) in 2019. He completed subspecialty fellowship training in The Royal Adelaide Hospital, South Australia. During this time he gained additional experience in MAKO robotic hip and knee replacement at Burnside hospital with Dr Robert Fassina and Dr Robert Baird who are leaders in this field in Australia. Mr Neilly specialises in hip and knee replacement and is a proponent of robotic surgery to aid early and rapid recovery. Mr Neilly has also helped to develop the adolescent Acute Knee service in NHS Grampian and regularly treats patients requiring ACL reconstruction and meniscal (cartilage) repair surgery.
