GMC reg: 4232522Daniel Walsh is a consultant neurosurgeon at King’s College Hospital in London, UK. He also participates in the Von Hippel-Lindau Disease and Neurofibromatosis 1 services at Guy's Hospital. Brought up in Ireland he qualified from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland Medical School in Dublin and completed his neurosurgical training initially in London and subsequently at the Institute of Neurological Sciences in Glasgow. In 2006-2007 he completed a Fellowship in cerebrovascular surgery under the mentorship of Professor Michael Morgan in Sydney before his appointment as a consultant with a major interest in neurovascular surgery in London. Since then he has gone on to take several leadership roles particularly in postgraduate education and co-directs the first fellowship in neurovascular surgery accredited by the Royal College of Surgeons of England. His time in Sydney inspired a career interest in the management of brain arteriovenous malformations that endures at one of the busiest UK cerebrovascular units. He was elected chair of the British Neurovascular Group from 2017-2019 and is current clinical lead for the NHS Specialist Commissioning Transformation Project on Non-traumatic Intracranial Haemorrhage.
