  Mr Cyril Marek graduated from Charles University Prague, Czech Republic in 1992. He was employed in an Orthopaedic Department of General Hospital in Ceska Lipa in Czech Republic and followed the postgradual training scheme under The Institute for Postgradual Studies and 1st Medical School, Charles University, Prague and at The Orthopaedic Clinic, Bulovka Teaching Hospital, Prague. He was trained in the whole spectrum of orthopaedic and trauma skills. His training included an internship at Service Orthopédique de l´Hospital Universitaire Bichat, Paris, France under Professor Jean-Yves Alnot and training at the Trauma Centre and Department of Neurosurgery, General Hospital, Liberec, Czech Republic. At the early stage he among other performed diagnostics and treatment of developmental dysplasia of the hip. He was also involved in Emergency Medical Service for more than a decade. He became a consultant in 2003. Between 2003 and 2006 he held a post the deputy head surgeon of the Orthopaedic Department at The General Hospital, Ceska Lipa.  It involved teaching of junior colleagues. Since May 2006 he is employed by Ramsay Healthcare (former Capio) in the UK.  He help setting up the orthopaedic service at the Blakelands Hospital in Milton Keynes, he did regular weekend work at the Kendal NHS Treatment Centre and he worked at the Cherwell Hospital (former Horton TC) in Banbury since it opened in 2006. His special interest is in surgery of the hip and knee, but he also performs procedures on the forefoot and hand. While in the UK he continues his higher surgical training attending training events in UK and abroad. He is the Medical Advisory Committee Chair at Blakelands, deputy at The Cherwell Hospital and member of the Ramsay National MAC for orthopaedics. Mr Marek recently started providing orthopaedic treatment at The New Foscote Hospital as well.  Professional Memberships:
